Whilst batik is a fun and creative activity there are a few inherent risks involved. By signing this form I indicate I accept these risks. These are (but not limited to):

Burns: from heated equipment and materials such as wax pots, splashed hot wax, hot tools and an electric iron.
Splashes and staining from dyes: We advise you wear old clothing. Nitrile gloves and safety goggles are provided for your comfort.
Asthma: Though we try to minimise the risk, the dyes (usually only when they are in powder form prior to mixing) may carry a very slight risk of triggering an asthma attack. Similarly, fumes from the melted wax and other chemicals may also be a risk for those with delicate respiratory systems. If you have asthma or other breathing difficulties please bring your inhaler and make us aware of your condition.
