After a very long week and and a mad dash to get everything ready for our first trial batik class on Saturday, the studio is now ready! It’s both beautiful and functional and I’m looking forward to spending many wonderful hours in here batiking with everybody. I’m sure the place will never look so clean again so I am posting these photos for posterity. 😁
I was very exited to collect the keys late last week to the newly refurbished room which is now home to Attic Batik in the heart of Belper. It’s been great to be part of the planning for the room(s) and seeing the building undergo the transformation from the old and run down White Swan public house to probably some of the nicest workspaces in town! 🙂
Having told a number of people I will be running batik classes, I am often asked “So, what is batik?”. This article aims to explain the process step-by-step using a project I will be teaching to beginners to decorate their initial.
